Articles We Offer State Of The Art Crown And Bridge Treatments
At Harley Street Dental Studio we offer a range of restoration treatments made using the very latest materials to effectively restore your teeth. Sometimes a filling is not enough to restore a weak tooth. There may not be enough tooth left to hold a filling, leaving the tooth open to damage and infection. So that the tooth doesn’t have to be extracted we offer beautiful porcelain crowns, which fully cover the weak tooth leaving the area looking just like your normal natural teeth.
How does crown treatment work?
We will look at the weakened or damaged tooth and remove any parts of the tooth that are damaged and shape the tooth ready for the crown. We use an adhesive to fit the crown over the weak tooth. The ceramic is made to match the rest of your teeth, so that the crown looks entirely natural in your mouth. A crown will then protect your tooth from further damage and help your bite function.
What is a dental bridge used for?
Whilst we offer very effective missing teeth treatments, if you only have one or two missing teeth, a dental bridge could be the best choice for you. Leaving missing teeth can cause the jawbone to weaken and this can affect your facial aesthetics. Also food particles can become stuck in the gaps in your mouth and adversely affect your oral health. Our dental bridge treatment anchors two crowns either side of the missing tooth and no wires are used in this process. The false tooth sits in the gap where your tooth was and is provided with strong support from the crowns on each side that are attached to your natural teeth. We use ceramic materials so that the bridge looks completely natural in your mouth and you can eat and smile with confidence.
