What exactly is Invisalign Teen?

Invisalign Teen is a discreet removable brace system, which is part of the Invisalign family; it works on the same basis, but it has been adapted specifically for younger patients.

Invisalign treatment involves wearing a series of custom-shaped aligners; these light plastic appliances slide over the teeth and they produce forces, which gently move the teeth into place. Each aligner is worn for 2 weeks and you wear the appliances in a sequence. The number of aligners you receive will depend on your individual orthodontic prescription and what kind of treatment is required and how much movement is needed.

Invisalign aligners are designed for convenience and you can take them out quickly and easily in order to make eating, socialising and cleaning your teeth completely hassle-free. You should wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day to ensure optimum results.

How is Invisalign Teen different?

Invisalign Teen is slightly different to traditional Invisalign treatment, in that every patient receives spare aligners and the aligners have a coloured indicator, which shows when they need to be swapped over. Otherwise, treatment is exactly the same and Invisalign Teen patients enjoy all the benefits of traditional treatment: comfort, amazingly discreet aesthetics and flexibility.
