Dental Veneers are thin layers of tooth-like material which can be used to spruce up your smile. They are also very popular with celebrities; everyone from Brad Pitt and Denzel Washington to George Clooney and Heidi Klum have used dental veneers to help them attain those starry smiles. If, however, you want to be one step ahead of the celebrity crowd, then you might want to turn your investigative gaze towards MAC veneers…

So then… MAC Veneers?

Normal veneers tend to be constructed from either porcelain or composite material. Composite veneers are cheaper and are effective at covering up minor chips, but they are less durable and tend to stain easily. Porcelain veneers, on the other hand are prized for their durability and natural look. Porcelain veneers, however, do only utilise four hues of colour on their top two layers. MAC veneers, in contrast, utilise sixteen hues of colour and this colour is built up from the inside of the veneer. This process produces a far more natural and realistic veneer then the oft-celebrated standard porcelain veneer. MAC Veneers are also wholly stain resistant. They can also work in conjunction with other popular dental treatments such crowns and bridges. MAC veneers are comparable, in terms of price, with conventional veneers, but are also reported to be 3 times more durable as their standard variants. Arguably, their sole disadvantage is that they are a touch thicker than conventional veneers, thus meaning a slightly larger amount of your tooth will have to be shaved in order to accommodate the veneers.

How are MAC Veneers fitted?

The MAC Veneer procedure should only require two trips to the dentist’s. During the first visit, photos and an impression of your teeth will be taken and they will be slightly etched. The second session will occur after the MAC Veneers have been constructed from the aforementioned impression and they will be fitted!
