About sedation

Sedation can be incredibly beneficial for patients who feel anxious about having treatment and those who need complex procedures. Sedation is not the same as general anaesthetic, as you don’t lose consciousness. You’ll be awake but you’ll feel very drowsy and you won’t feel any pain. After sensation, it can take a while for the effects to wear off, and we advise you to arrange for a friend or relative to accompany you home. It’s normal not to remember much about the procedure.
