Dental implants are small titanium screws, which are put into sockets in the jaw bone replacing the root section of the missing tooth. The implants are designed to integrate into the jaw bone to provide maximum anchorage for the new tooth; once the implant has healed, it can be attached to a dental crown, a bridge or dentures.

Alternatives to dental implants include dental bridges and dentures; dental bridges are often used to replace a single missing tooth, while dentures are often recommended for patients with a large number of missing teeth.

What is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a dental implant system, which creates instant results. Normally, with dental implants, patients have to wait for several months for the new implants to heal before the restoration can be attached; however, with All-on-4 implants, the new teeth can be fitted immediately after the implants.

All-on-4 uses just four implants to support an entire arch of new teeth; usually, between 6 and 10 implants would be required, but this system makes use of the strong bone at the front of the mouth to provide optimum support for the teeth. The implants are placed at the back and front of the mouth; two are positioned at the back at 90 degree angles and 2 are placed at the front at 45 degree angles.

All-on-4 is beneficial for patients with a large number of missing teeth and those who have problems with dentures in the past; the All-on-4 system produces amazing aesthetics, as well as giving patients the peace of mind that their denture will never come loose because the denture is anchored by dental implants; this also gives greater bite power, which means you can eat whatever you like!
