The dental implant treatment process

Before dental implants are fitted, we invite patients to attend a consultation so that we can check that implants are a suitable treatment. Before the implants can be fitted, we drill a small socket (or sockets, depending on the number of implants required) in the jaw bone. The implant is then fitted into the socket and left to integrate into the bone; this process, which is known as osseointegration, takes between 3 and 9 months and is followed by another appointment to attach the new restoration.
