What skin and hair types can be treated?
The Soprano machine is unique in that can treat all hair types and skin types – from light brown hair to dark hair; and all skin colours, including black or Asian skin tones.
Most lasers struggle to achieve results on individuals with darker skin tones or with lighter hair. The Soprano laser targets the pigments in the hair themselves that convert the laser energy into the heat necessary to destroy the hair follicle.
How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?
Laser hair removal only targets hair follicles in the growth phase of the lifecycle, and only approx 20% of your hair is in the growth phase at any one time. For this reason, a series of treatments will be needed in the same area. How many repeat treatments you will need depend on a number of factors, such as hormone balance and skin sensitivity. We will be able to give you an indication of how many treatments you may need at your free consultation. For the majority of patients, six treatments are enough to achieve great results.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Laser hair removal will permanently destroy your existing hair follicles that are in the growth phase (approx 20%). After several treatments, our patients notice a permanent reduction in hair and for many, there is no regrowth at all. However, you may find that new hair follicles may appear in time. As laser hair removal does not prevent new hair follicles from forming, you may require top-up treatments to remove the new hair.
Which areas do you treat?
Any part of the body can be treated with laser hair removal, other than your eyes or areas where you have broken skin. Common areas for hair removal at our Harley Street clinic include Upper lip, Ears, Nose, Legs, Underarm, Chest, Back, and Bikini line.
