I have just had my Incognito Braces removed and I could not be happier with my results. I had my braces fitted for a short duration, roughly only about 3 months and the reason I opted for incognito braces was that they are fitted behind the tooth, meaning no one knew I had them. My Orthodontist Dr Steffan Decker was an absolute joy to see and from my first consultation was extremely informative about my treatment plan. I would highly recommend The Harley Street Dental Studio, but more importantly the man who made me smile again, Dr Steffan Decker!

Stages of Treatment
Stage one
You will be required to come in to Harley Street Dental Studio for an initial consultation. One of our experts will have to carry out a detailed assessment of your teeth in order to confirm that this is the best orthodontic treatment for you.
Stage two
You will then be asked to come back for another appointment. During this appointment we will take impressions, x-rays and photographs of your teeth to be sent off to the lab, where models of your teeth will be created. Not only will they make a model of the teeth in their current position, but there will also be a model displaying how they are expected to look once treatment is complete.
Stage three
Once we have approved your treatment plan for Incognito Hidden Braces, the custom-made wires and brackets will be made. This process may take several weeks, as they are constructed individually in order to provide you with a brace that’s comfortable to wear.
Stage four
The next stage is for the wires, brackets and elastics to be fitted into position. They might feel a bit strange at first, but you will get used to them within a day or two.

Can I eat anything I want during treatment?
No. Unfortunately there are a number of foodstuffs that you cannot eat whilst receiving Incognito treatment. These foodstuffs include ice, hard sweets, raw vegetables and sticky foods (such as chewing gum, caramel and toffee).
Does treatment with Incognito hurt?
Upon each check up with your dentist, the archwires used for Incognito braces will be tightened. This means that slight pressure and discomfort will be experienced for a few days, but this will swiftly disappear.
Do I need to brush my teeth more often during Incognito treatment?
It is vital that tooth decay and gum disease is avoided whilst undergoing Incognito treatment. This will mean that you will need to brush your teeth at least four times a day, rather than twice. Practicing a great level of oral hygiene will ensure that food does not get stuck in the braces, thus maintain great oral health throughout treatment.
