Articles What You Need to Know About All-on-4 Implants

How can we help?

In recent years, dental implants have become incredibly popular and are now often the first-choice treatment for replacing missing or damaged teeth. Furthermore, people who wear dentures are regularly choosing implant-secured dentures as they are able to provide better functionality, improved anchorage and stability.

The all-on-4 implant system has been specifically designed to provide maximum support and function. Usually, a patient is advised to have between 6 and 10 dental implants to support a complete set of dentures. However, the all-on-4 system provides stable anchorage for a complete set of dentures and requires only 4 dental implants. Patients from London and other surrounding areas can enjoy this treatment.

The system works so well because two implants are placed at the front of the mouth and two implants at the back of the mouth. The implants at the back of the mouth are placed at specific angles of 45 degrees to provide maximum stability and support.

Dentures can be supported by just four dental implants and treatment time is much shorter. All-on-4 dental implants can also be fitted on the same day as the new denture, which means that there is no need for temporary restorations. Many people are worried and anxious about having dental treatment, so shorter treatment times and less frequent visits to the dentist will come as welcome news.

Sometimes, patients who opt for dental implants have to undergo bone grafting to ensure there is enough bone tissue to support the implant. However, this is very rare with the All-on-4 system as the system is designed to utilise the strongest bone tissue at the front of the jaw.

All-on-4 is suitable for a large proportion of people. However, they may not be the appropriate for everyone. Your dentist will conduct a thorough examination to see if you are a suitable candidate. If you smoke or have diabetes or brittle bone tissue, then you may be advised to choose a different treatment.
