Articles What Treatments Are Available To Make Me Look Younger?

How can we help?

Most people would admit that they’d like to look younger, but which treatments can help you achieve this goal and is it safe to have facial aesthetic treatment in a bid to roll back the years?

Facial treatments

Facial treatments have become extremely popular and thousands of men and women are having treatment across the UK every year in a bid to revive and rejuvenate their looks. The most popular non-surgical facial treatments include Botox and dermal fillers:

Botox

Botox is a very popular anti-ageing treatment, which is designed to soften the appearance of wrinkles and lines and create a smoother, younger looking complexion. Botox is a purified form of Botulinum toxin type A, which is injected into specific areas of the skin; it works by reducing contraction in the facial muscles, which causes them to relax. Botox blocks nerve signals to the muscles, but it is only a temporary measure. The results usually last between 3 and 6 months, but it is possible to repeat treatment. Botox is most commonly used to address wrinkles on the forehead, laughter lines and crow’s feet and it can also be used between the nose and mouth. Treatment sessions take around 15-30 minutes and involve using a very fine needle to inject Botox into the specified areas.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are an increasingly popular treatment option for those looking to enjoy younger looking skin. Fillers are an effective solution for battling lines and wrinkles, but they can also help to enhance and define the facial features. Fillers are injected into the skin to add volume, which helps to combat the effects of decreasing collagen stores; they can also be used to define the cheekbones, jaw line and the lips. Like Botox, the filler procedure is simple and quick, usually lasting just 20-30 minutes. The results of filler treatment usually last around 6-9 months.

Is treatment safe?

If you are thinking about having facial treatment, it is advisable to make sure you visit a dentist or facial aesthetic practitioner who has the relevant experience and qualifications to provide safe and effective treatment. When administered by experienced professionals, treatment should be safe; however, there may be side-effects, such as swelling, redness and bruising. You should always be made aware of the potential risks of treatment before you agree to go ahead.
