Articles We Offer Custom Made Lingual Braces For Our Orthodontic Patients

How can we help?

At Harley Street Dental Studio, our orthodontic patients are spoiled for choice, with access to an extensive range of high-performance treatments. Top of the wish-list for many patients is a discreet treatment, which will straighten the teeth with minimal impact on confidence and looks during the treatment process; in response to this popular desire, we offer a selection of discreet treatments and invisible braces, including custom-made lingual braces.

What are lingual braces?

Lingual braces are custom-designed fixed braces, which are secured onto the back of the teeth to offer an invisible alternative to traditional orthodontics. As the contours of the back of the teeth are different on the every tooth, brackets are individually designed to ensure a perfect fit. Once the braces are ready, the brackets are fitted individually and the arch-wire is then passed through.

The beauty of lingual braces is that they offer the reliability and efficacy of fixed braces, as well as the opportunity to enjoy complete invisibility throughout your treatment.

Incognito lingual braces

Incognito is a leading lingual brace system, which is suitable for patients with moderate and complex needs. These high quality braces are made from metal alloys, including gold, and they are suitable for patients with a nickel allergy. Incognito braces use the latest technology to minimise friction and move the teeth as comfortably and quickly as possible.

Who can benefit from Incognito?

Incognito is ideally suited to patients who need a considerable amount of movement but don’t want the hassle of dealing with the stigma attached to wearing visible braces or the worry of showing off a brace every time they speak, meet new people or smile. Incognito enables you to have treatment in secret and enjoy greater confidence for the duration of the process until treatment is complete and you have a beautiful, straight smile.

How long does treatment take?

Every patient is different and treatment times vary to reflect how much movement is required in each case; typically, treatment takes between 15 and 28 months.
