Invisalign Teen works in the same way as Invisalign, but offers additional features that simplify the treatment process. Invisalign treatment straightens the teeth using multiple custom-designed clear aligners. These aligners are worn in order, with each one in place for two weeks at a time. Invisalign Teen aligners work in the same way as Invisalign aligners and the process is the same. However, Invisalign Teen aligners feature a coloured indicator to remind teens when to change their aligners and they’ll also get spares, so there’s no need to panic if an aligner gets misplaced.

Invisalign Teen braces are suited to young people with minor or moderate orthodontic needs and should be worn for around 22 hours a day. Invisalign aligners are removable, which means that they fit effortlessly into the busy lifestyle of a teenager. Your teen can eat normally and clean their teeth as easily as they did before they started treatment.

The treatment stages

Before your teen begins treatment, they will have a consultation and we will take photographs and make impressions of their teeth, to be sent away to the Invisalign laboratory. At the laboratory, advanced software is used to generate images of the teeth and predict their movement. The aligners are fabricated based on your son or daughter’s individual treatment plan and the first few aligners will be sent back to us. When we receive them, we will fit the first aligner and treatment can begin.

During the treatment, we will arrange appointments every six weeks or so to check your teen’s progress and provide them with more aligners. By the time they remove the last aligner, they will have a wonderfully straight smile.
