Dr Francesca Pantanali graduated from the Catholic University of Rome (Italy) with both joint honours in both medicine and dentistry. After working in private practices and hospital, she then qualified as a Specialist Orthodontist in 2000.
In 2007 she completed her PhD in Orthodontics working with complex multidisciplinary cases and those patients with severe dento-facial deformities.
She loves teaching orthodontics to postgraduate students and worked as Professor Adjunct and Clinical teacher in Orthodontics at the Catholic University in Rome.
In 2010 she moved to London, with her family, and works in specialist private practice and as a Consultant Orthodontist, the highest level for a UK orthodontist, with the Eastbourne East Sussex NHS Trust. Her level of expertise and advanced knowledge, allows her to treat a wide range of orthodontic treatments, from the simple alignment to the most challenging orthodontic cases, who may need multidisciplinary treatments and even maxilla-facial (jaw) surgery.
Francesca has considerable experience with the latest “invisible” techniques in Orthodontics, such as Invisalign and lingual, or ‘inside’ braces and regularly provides these for her patients.
Outside of practice, Francesca has volunteered and worked for Operation Smile, a non-profit international medical service organisation providing free surgeries to repair cleft lip and cleft palate for children around the globe.
She is both member of the Italian Orthodontics Society and the British Orthodontic Society.
When not straightening teeth, Francesca enjoys London life, yoga, sailing around the Mediterranean and skiing.
