So you’ve heard it all before: No one likes visible braces, they make you feel like a gawky teenager, and here comes some invisible brace that’ll mean no one will know you’re using one. Yet you’re still not convinced: “It’s only a minor problem,” you may say, “I don’t like it, but I don’t much like the sound of lengthy brace treatment either – invisible or otherwise!” Well my flustered friend, we may finally have the perfect treatment for you: Invisalign lite.

What is Invisalign lite?

Let’s start with what the original Invisalign is: A set of clear plastic aligners. Invisalign ‘classic’ essentially offered orthodontic treatment which would be invisible to the naked eye, but the treatment could last between 12 and 18 months. Invisalign lite is just like original Invisalign except much faster, with treatment time averaging between 5 and 6 months.

Is this treatment for everyone?

Sadly not: The original Invisalign was not optimal for extreme orthodontic work and Invisalign lite is more specific than the original. Invisalign lite only works for minor orthodontic issues, but what it can work with it works with fast!

Advantages of this treatment

Well, this depends on what we are comparing the treatment against. The advantages that Invisalign lite treatment has over traditional braces are pretty extensive: Firstly, they are invisible. No one need know you are having any treatment done. Secondly, they are far more comfortable than fixed braces which can sometimes cause gum inflammation and irritation. Invisalign treatment is also more convenient, in terms of oral hygiene, as the aligners can be removed, thus allowing ease of access when brushing and flossing. Invisalign lite simply does all of the above, but at twice the speed.
