When it comes to our daily lives we come in contact with several different people every day, whether it is at work, at home, in the street or even when we are shopping or at the bank and the last thing you want when you’re talking to someone in any of these situations is bad breath.
Everyone suffers from the problem of bad breath from time to time, but when it becomes constant then there can be a real problem. However the problem of suffering from bad breath can come from something as simple as having a poor dental hygiene routine, and there are a number of ways to prevent this.
Firstly there’s your dental hygiene routine, so make sure you brush your teeth at least twice a day to keep your breath smelling nice and fresh, and make sure you use fluoride toothpaste. Also when brushing your teeth make sure that you floss them to remove any bacteria lurking in between them, as brushing only cleans around 60% of the tooth’s surface.
Make sure you scrape your tongue during your hygiene routine to remove bacteria that may have been missed during brushing, and use an antibacterial mouthwash to remove any other bacteria hiding out in your mouth that may have been missed.
There are other things you can do too such as quitting smoking and cutting back on foods such as garlic, which can leave you with bad smelling breath. Also chew sugar free gum, as chewing helps keep the mouth moist, which can prevent bad breath, but remember this isn’t a substitute for cleaning your teeth.
Finally make sure you have regular check ups with your dentist and hygienist to make sure your mouth is in the best shape it can be in, and there aren’t any underlying dental problems causing your bad breath.
