Articles How Does Aesthetic Bonding Work And What Can It Treat?

How can we help?

Cosmetic dentistry is extremely popular, but often people assume that it costs a lot of money and is restricted to the rich and famous. This is definitely not the case and treatments like aesthetic bonding make a beautiful smile accessible to all. This simple, single-session treatment can make an amazing difference to the look of the smile without any pain, needles or drilling!

What is aesthetic bonding?

Aesthetic bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure, which is used to improve the appearance of the teeth to create a more attractive smile. This treatment is an excellent solution for chipped and worn teeth, gaps between the teeth and misshapen, uneven teeth. It helps to re-shape and repair the teeth and although the changes made to each individual tooth may appear minor, the overall impression is outstanding and you’ll be amazed when you look in the mirror and see the results.

What are the benefits?

Bonding is a really simple and effective way of making the smile look great and boosting confidence. Treatment only takes one hour and there’s no pain involved, so you won’t need any anaesthetic and you don’t need to worry about dental drills or injections.

Bonding can make an incredible difference to the look of your teeth, which can help to build confidence and make you feel more attractive. This treatment is much less expensive than veneers and treatment is less invasive. With bonding you can also see the results of treatment straightaway, with no waiting around to see your amazing new smile!

How does treatment work?

Cosmetic bonding involves using dental composite to reshape and restore the teeth. Composite is a tooth-coloured putty-like material, which is used for white fillings; it can be shaped and moulded to fill in gaps, build up worn and uneven surfaces and repair chips to produce a beautiful, natural looking aesthetic. There are various shades of composite available, so we choose the closest math to your natural tooth shade. Once the composite is in the correct place, your dentist will set it using a curing light and then make any final adjustments for the perfect outcome.
