What are dental implants?

How are dental implants placed?

The implant is placed inside the socket and the flap is then closed and the incision sutured. The implant is then left to heal for a period of time and this allows osseointegration to take place. When the implant has healed, a stud is connected to the implant and the head can then be attached to a new restoration to replace the visible part of the tooth.
