One of our most popular and impressive orthodontic systems is Damon Braces. When patients come to us with an interest in orthodontics, they often have lots of good questions. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about dazzling Damon Braces:
These phenomenal braces use the latest friction-free technology and braces made from sliding brackets and memory wires to apply gentle pressure to the teeth, which causes them to move in the right direction. The forces created push and pull the teeth, resulting in perfectly aligned teeth.
As fixed braces, Damon Braces consist of small, discreet brackets and fine wires. They are much less noticeable than traditional metal train-track braces.
Treatment times vary according to the severity of the orthodontic prescription. In more complex cases, more movement will be required and treatment times will be longer than in cases where issues are either minor or moderate. Typically, treatment takes around 12-18 months.
Damon Braces use the latest technology to exert gentle forces and you should find them very comfortable. However, as with all braces, you may find these braces a little uncomfortable for the first couple of days. If you do have any soreness when your braces are fitted, you can take over the counter pain relief.
Many people worry that having braces will dramatically change their diet, but this is not the case. It is true that some foods are easier to manage with braces than others, but you won’t need to make enormous changes to your normal daily diet. To begin with, it’s best to stick to soft foods and avoid anything hard or chewy while you get used to wearing your braces.
As a general rule, Damon Braces are suitable for anyone who is a good candidate for traditional fixed braces.
