Articles Four Ways Harley Street Dental Studio can Revive a Broken Tooth

How can we help?

If you have a broken tooth, don’t despair! Our expert dentists are here to help. Here are four ways we can revive damaged teeth:

  1. Crown: a crown is a dental restoration, which can be used if a tooth is fractured or badly damaged. The crown, which will be made to fit, is placed over the top of the existing tooth structure. Before a new crown is fitted, the tooth is prepared and a mould is made. This mould acts as a template for your new crown. Crowns improve the aesthetic of a damaged tooth, but they also help to strengthen the tooth and reduce the risk of further injury.
  2. Filling: if your tooth has only sustained minor damage, it may be possible to patch it up using a tooth-coloured filling. This is a relatively straightforward procedure we can usually complete in less than an hour.
  3. Dental bonding: if your tooth is chipped, we may be able to use a cosmetic technique called dental or composite bonding to repair it. This involves using dental composite, a tooth-coloured material, to build up worn and chipped edges and strengthen the tooth. Bonding is painless, it takes just an hour, and the results are incredibly impressive.
  4. Root canal treatment: if the tooth is fractured and the nerves are exposed, root canal treatment may be recommended. This procedure can help to save a tooth once the living tissue of the tooth, the pulp, has become damaged. We carry out root canal therapy under local anaesthetic, so you won’t feel any pain. It is common to fit a new crown after root canal treatment to make the tooth more robust.
