How can we help?

If you’ve had an accident, are in pain or need urgent attention for an existing dental issue, we can help!

Types of dental emergency

If you have severe tooth pain, a dental abscess or injuries as a result of playing sport, falling or another type of accident, you may need urgent dental care.

If you have tooth pain that isn’t easing after taking over-the-counter pain relief, comes on suddenly or is getting worse, call us. Intense dental pain can be very difficult to deal with and we will work quickly to identify the cause and find a suitable solution.

If you have a broken tooth, there is a risk of further damage and we can provide emergency restorative treatment. It is common to have a dental X-ray to determine the extent of injury and then your dentist will decide on an appropriate course of action.

If you lose a tooth completely, it may be possible to re-implant the tooth if you are able to see a dentist quickly. Call us as soon as you can and in the meantime, gently wipe the tooth, holding the crown at all times, and then hold it between your cheek and gums (this is not suitable advice for children). You can also place the tooth in a glass of milk.

If you can get to a clinic fast enough, a dentist may be able to save the tooth.

If you have injured your jaw it is best to go to your nearest Accident and Emergency department.
