CEREC has really made a difference to the way restorative treatment works and we’re able to respond quickly in situations where a patient has a broken tooth. Rather than taking an impression of the tooth, fitting a temporary crown and waiting two weeks for the permanent crown to be sent back, we can do everything on-site and this makes the process so much faster. We take images of the tooth instead of using putty moulds and these images are transformed into detailed 3D models. CEREC uses these models to fabricate bespoke restorations in a matter of minutes. Once the new crown is ready, we can then place it and secure it. Gone are the days of waiting weeks for treatment! As well as making new crowns, we can also use CEREC technology to produce custom-made inlays, onlays and veneers.
