If you have a sparkling set of brand new veneers, you probably want to do everything possible to keep your smile in pristine condition for years to come. Here are 4 ways to preserve that perfect new smile:

  1. Take care with your diet: the foods you eat can have an impact on your oral health but they may also pose a risk to your veneers. If you eat hard foods, they can chip and damage the veneers, so take great care with foods like hard sweets.
  2. Use a straw: some veneers are stain-resistant, but if you want to keep your new pearly whites glistening, it’s a good idea to use a straw when you drink. Many popular beverages including cola, tea and fruit juice, contain staining agents, which could discolour your veneers and detract from the beauty of your smile.
  3. Get brushing: oral health should be a priority for everyone, and we strongly recommend a thorough daily oral hygiene regime. Spend at least 2 minutes every morning and evening cleaning your teeth to lower your risk of dental disease and keep your veneers in check.
  4. Book a dental check: it’s hugely beneficial to keep in touch with your dentist even if your teeth look fabulous and you haven’t had any dental problems. It can take time for symptoms to become apparent and going for regular dental checks is also a really effective preventative measure.
