Articles Can My Tooth Be Saved Using A Dental Crown In Central London?

How can we help?

Accidents can happen at any time and unfortunately, the teeth can become damaged and weak. If you break a tooth, you fall and chip your tooth or you hear a crack when you’re biting down on something, we are here to help! We can patch you up, ease your pain and restore your tooth to its former glory in no time. If you need urgent treatment, we provide same-day appointments.

About dental crowns

Crowns are a very useful and effective restorative treatment, which we use to repair and rebuild damaged teeth. If you have a large cavity, you have broken a tooth or your tooth is infected, we are able to place a new crown over the existing tooth structure to make it stronger and more resistant to damage and further injury.

If the tooth is infected and there is a risk that the infection has spread to the pulp tissue, which contains the nerves and blood vessels, we may recommend root canal treatment before the crown is placed. This procedure removes the decayed tissue from the tooth.

Crown treatment

Before a crown is placed, it is essential to prepare the tooth; this involves shaping the tooth and removing any decayed or damaged tooth structure. We then create a mould of the tooth and this is sent away to the dental laboratory; once the new bespoke crown is ready, we place it over the top of your tooth and seal it securely in place. After treatment, your tooth will feel stronger and you shouldn’t have any pain; crowns should last for around 10 years if they are cared for well.
