Articles 4 Tips for Invisalign Wearers

How can we help?

Invisalign is an incredibly popular orthodontic treatment and it’s no wonder why. This amazing system offers all kinds of benefits and brilliant results. If you’re embarking on Invisalign treatment or are considering it for the future, here are four helpful tips:

Keep your aligners in a safe place

With Invisalign, you can take your aligners in and out and while this is convenient, there is a risk of losing your braces. Keep your aligners in a safe place at home when you take them out and carry a small case with you when you’re out and about to protect your aligners and ensure you can find them straightaway without frantically having to turn your bag inside out.

Wear your aligners for the recommended time

Invisalign aligners are removable, but they need to be in place for the majority of the day to guarantee success. We recommend wearing your aligners for at least 21 hours each day to enable the braces to work their magic and move your teeth into the correct position.

Keep your braces clean

It’s essential to practise good oral hygiene at all times, but it’s particularly important to keep your teeth as clean as possible when you have braces. You’ll be able to take your aligners out to brush your teeth but it’s also important to keep the aligners themselves clean. This will help to reduce your risk of decay and gum disease.

See your dentist regularly

We recommend regular check-ups during the treatment process. This enables us to see how you are getting on with your treatment and gives us chance to check your teeth and gums.
