DR. HUGHES: Well Invisalign is exactly what it says it is. It is an invisible aligner. So Invisalign is a clear plastic aligner that fits over the teeth and moves them so that they become straight. It has got many uses, but primarily it is used to straighten teeth, correct awkward bites, so anything that a traditional brace was used for in the past, Invisalign can be used for now. Everybody can benefit from orthodontics and everybody can therefore benefit from Invisalign. There is a misconception that Invisalign is just for kids or teenagers. We have treated patients in the practice with Invisalign that are from the ages of 14 right up until 70.
