About wisdom teeth

The wisdom teeth are also known as the third molars and are the last teeth to erupt. When is it advisable to have a wisdom tooth removed?

It is advisable to remove a wisdom tooth if it causes discomfort, has become impacted or is decayed. Wisdom teeth are not essential for oral health so it’s acceptable to have them extracted if they cause any problems. In many cases, wisdom teeth develop without any problems at all, but they can be troublesome if there is a lack of space.

Wisdom tooth extraction

The extraction procedure for wisdom teeth is essentially the same as a regular extraction procedure. However there are often complications relating to the wisdom tooth’s angle and position.
