Children’s dentistry

We like to live by the motto that prevention is better than cure when it comes to children’s dentistry and we provide a range of general and preventative dental treatments to keep infections and decay at bay and protect baby teeth. Decay is incredibly common, but it is almost always preventable and with the right treatments and a good oral hygiene regime at home teamed with healthy food choices, we can help to fight off harmful bacteria and prevent children from suffering toothache and sensitivity.

We strongly encourage parents to bring children for the first check-up between the ages of 12 and 18 months and we recommend 6 monthly checks from this first appointment. Check-ups are quick and simple and they allow us to keep note of any changes, identify any potential problems, such as signs of decay or developing orthodontic issues and give the teeth and gums a thorough clean. We understand that going to the dentist can be a bit scary, especially for little people, and we do everything in our power to ensure that our younger patients remain calm and relaxed; we’ve got toy aplenty, books to read and music and DVDs to entertain and our dentists are always happy to answer questions and offer explanations.

In addition to routine check-ups, we also recommend preventative treatments, including fluoride varnish and fissure sealant treatment; these treatments are quick and completely painless and they really help to protect the teeth and reduce the risk of decay.
