Articles Toothache: Four Things You Can Do To Help

How can we help?

There’s no denying that toothache can make your miserable. If you’ve got dental pain, here are 4 things you can do to help:

  1. Call your dentist: if you have toothache, this may be a sign of underlying problems that need treating, so it’s always best to get checked out. It’s easy to assume that pain will go, but this is not always the case, so call us and book an appointment. If you do have signs of infection or a cavity, we can arrange treatment and prevent you from experiencing any further pain.
  2. Take painkillers: if you have toothache, taking over the counter painkillers can help to alleviate discomfort. Make sure you follow dosage instructions and don’t take painkillers over a prolonged period of time. They should only be a short-term remedy. If pain persists, contact your dentist.
  3. Apply ice: if you have sore teeth or gums, applying an ice pack can help to reduce swelling and ease pain. Make sure you cover ice in a towel or cloth first.
  4. Avoid hard and chewy foods: when you have sore teeth, you don’t want to put them under unnecessary pressure, so try and avoid eating anything hard or chewy. Stick to soft foods and ring your dentist for advice.

If you’re suffering, we are here to help! Don’t hesitate to get in touch!
