About dermal fillers and Botox

Facial treatments have become incredibly popular because more and more people want to look younger and healthier. The skin is one of the first parts of the body to show signs of ageing and if you’ve noticed wrinkles and lines or you feel that your skin look tired or dull, this can affect your confidence.

Dermal fillers are designed to add volume to the skin, smoothing out lines and wrinkles and giving the skin bounce and vigour. Fillers can also be used to add definition to the face and also to boost volume in the lips.

Botox is a very popular treatment; it is used to smooth the complexion and create a younger, fresher look.

What does treatment involve?

At Harley Street Dental Studio we use a filler known as Restylane; Restylane was developed in Sweden and it contains hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body. The treatment process may sound daunting, but it is actually very straight-forward and quick and there is no pain involved. A very fine needle is used to inject Restylane into specific areas of the skin; we will discuss the areas you want to treat during the consultation stage. Treatment usually takes around 20-30 minutes and there are usually no side-effects, so you can return to your normal daily life without any problems.

The procedure for Botox treatment is very similar and both treatments produce temporary results for up to 9 months. After the effects have started to wear off, patients have the choice of topping up their treatment to prolong the results.
